To all of our fans and competitors,
With a month to go, we have been challenged with a number of hard decisions to make.

There were a number of improvements, that we want to make, to ensure an excellent racing experience, and in return raise the bar of expectations of multisport racing in Malaysia, this initiative required a medium to long term investment from partners and sponsors.

Due to the above, World Action Sports has been challenged with not being able to bring you an event of an expected calibre and level of delivery, we have had to balance between a level of expectation and an experience that we are not willing to compromise.

With this we are not able to organize XTERRA Malaysia 2010.

For competitors who have signed up and were looking forward to the race weekend, we sincerely apologise for this inconvenience,

For competitors who have signed up and paid full entry fees, you will be receiving personal emails within the next 48hours, on information how best to reimburse your fees, with a view on all reimbursements being done by the 20th of May.

For further enquiries please do direct all communication to info@xterramalaysia.net

    Thank you again

    Yours sincerely

World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) and Laguna Resorts & Hotels announce the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship to be held on Dec. 5, 2010. The race, set at Laguna Phuket Resort in Phuket, Thailand, will be the culmination of WTC's new Asia-Pacific Ironman 70.3 Event Series. The Laguna Phuket Resort is expected to be the permanent home of this Championship.

"An increased focus on Ironman 70.3 events will foster continued growth in the regional triathlon market," said WTC’s Chief Operating Officer, Steve Meckfessel. “While the region has hosted full-distance Ironman races in Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan for more than 20 years, the demand in many countries for longer distance race experiences has evolved. The Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Series will deliver quality event and cultural experiences at premium race venues throughout the region."

The decision to host the Series Championship event at Laguna Phuket was an easy one,” said Murphy Reinschreiber, WTC’s managing director of Asia-Pacific. “The resort serves as a destination with broad appeal to athletes in all of our markets, including Australia, Singapore, Japan, the U.S. and Europe, and it is a proven and storied triathlon venue.”

Phuket, Thailand is one of the world’s premiere holiday destinations famed for its crystal clear waters, pristine white beaches, stunning natural scenery and variety of attractions and entertainment.

Ironman 70.3 Centrair Tokoname Japan will take place on September 19, 2010. Situated near the city of Nagoya in the Aichi Prefecture, Japan's fourth largest city, the race unfolds in the Tokoname City precinct surrounding the Centrair International Airport, a spacious and scenic area south of the city.

The Centrair International Airport will act as the hub of the race course that will traverse Tokoname City and surrounding environs. The event expo, race office and awards banquet will be located inside the airport terminal itself, offering a unique Ironman 70.3 experience for athletes and fans alike.

“We are thrilled about this race,” said Murphy Reinschreiber, Ironman’s Managing Director of Asia-Pacific. “An Ironman 70.3 event in Japan – especially at this venue – is a big deal. We expect that this race will introduce new athletes to the Ironman experience and energize Ironman racing in Japan and the region. This event is the result of effort and belief support from a number of Ironman enthusiasts in Japan. No doubt, their enthusiasm will shine through on race day.”
